An Icelandic folk song about a young girl who couldn't take care of her baby so she left it out in the cold to die. One day, while working on a farm, she was upset because she didn't have anything nice to wear to the local dance. The ghost of her dead baby came to her and sang this song...

There are many interpretations and translations of this song but basically the baby is offering her blanket for the mother to dance in.
